About
Mallen Studio is a human-directed AI photography studio based in Bristol, UK, founded by brothers Tony and Martin Allen.
Photography has always been about vision, craft, and storytelling.
Technology has changed how images are captured, edited, and shared, but the role of human creative direction has never changed. And it never should.
We believe generative tools are not replacements for photographers. They are expansions of what photographers can create.
We bring 17 years of professional photography experience into every project; shaping lighting, narrative, composition, and authenticity with the same discipline and intent as a physical shoot.

Martin has been behind the camera since the age of 10, starting out shooting skateboarding photography before building a 17-year career in professional photography.
Since then, he has worked with brands including Dyson and Musto, photographed professional extreme sports athletes such as Matt Pritchard, Marc Churchill, and Tom Court, and captured everything from large industry events to sailing commissions including Cowes Week.
He also has extensive experience shooting luxury boats, cars, bikes, and other high-end technical products, bringing precision, creativity, and commercial instinct to every brief.
With a background in illustration as well as photography, Martin has a sharp visual eye and a deep understanding of how to create imagery that feels authentic, elevated, and effective.

Tony has always been creative at heart, from designing and making tattoos, to developing an early fascination with how ideas take shape in the real world.
After studying Physics at the University of Bristol, he spent 20 years in marketing recruitment and client services, working closely with brands, agencies, tech start-ups, B Corp scale-ups, and global businesses.
That experience gave him a deep understanding of what keeps brand and marketing leaders up at night, and the challenges they need solving.
He brings strategic thinking, commercial insight, honesty, transparency, and a strong belief in doing business the right way, with purpose built in from the start.
Alongside Mallen Studio, Tony volunteers as an Equal Opportunities Ambassador for Babbasa in Bristol and sits on the Talent Advisory Committee at the DMA, helping support a more inclusive and thoughtful future for the industry.
